Kingston Bagpuize an estate village walkWalking in what was once the Kingston Bagpuize estateOur walk now takes us to the Hinds Head on the Abingdon to Witney Road,Sadler's Cottage, the old surgery and Village bakery, the Church and John Blandy's first school | The Hinds Head on the Abingdon-Witney road and junction of Faringdon Road. On the right-hand side of the pub it is thought that a weighbridge once stood. Maybe this should have been kept as until recently, too heavy vehicles attempted to cross the Saxon bridge at Newbridge at the North of the parish, on their way to Witney. | |
| Next to the Hinds Head is the Sadler's Cottage. It was here that the Saddler lived who made the saddles and harnesses for the estate and the Old Berkshire Hunt. View Yesteryear Sadler's Cottage. | |
| Now we walk across to the Abingdon Road and see this house on the corner. This was once the Village bakery and later a Doctor's Surgery. View yesteryear photo | |
| Blue skies over the Church Green. The limes have had their limbs cut back to promote a more bushy growth of foliage. | |

Now we will turn back the way we came, and walking past the church, we shall go down into Rimes Lane and the 'Church path' Photos~5 |
